The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Cameron Reid as the new Chair of the Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWP) & Hoist International Committee. In his new role, Reid will lead IPAF’s mission to promote the safe and effective use of Mast Climbing Work Platforms and Construction Hoists worldwide through technical expertise, guidance, and training to meet industry standards and regulations.
Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) Category 3a (e.g., scissor lifts) are sometimes fitted with extension decks, these can be single, or double deck extensions. The purpose of an extension deck is to provide additional horizontal outreach beyond the main deck of the platform.

John passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at the age of 88, after a battle with late-stage prostate cancer.

IPAF Elevation Deutschland und Österreich
IPAF members, non-members and IPAF certified trainers in Germany and Austria are invited to attend IPAF Elevation Germany, which is aimed at the German and Austrian powered access industry. The event will take place at HKK Wernigerode and will last two days. On the first day, participants can register for a guided tour of the Eternity Technologies battery factory and round off the day with dinner together in the evening. The next day will be the annual PDS for professional development for trainers. The event offers MEWP industry professionals the opportunity to network, learn about the latest developments and celebrate all that makes our industry special.

This webinar hosted guest speakers from the hoist and mast climbing industry and was conducted in a relaxed discussion style format. The site visit is planned for Wednesday afternoon – more information will be provide nearer the time. Attendance is free and open to IPAF Summit & IAPAs delegates and IPAF members. N.B. Pre-registration is essential.

The Working at Height Conference & Awards, created and organized by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) and Access, Lift & Handlers (ALH) magazine, will take place on November 20 at Music City Center in Nashville. This new event, which combines IPAF’s annual North American Innovate event and ALH’s long-standing ALH Conference & Awards, will highlight the use of aerial platforms to improve site productivity and safety.
