Common underlying factors in electrocutions which lead to serious injury and death include; the MEWP operator working away from a controlled site; not expecting to encounter or be close to overhead lines; lone working; working unsupervised, with no-one to spot dangers or raise the alarm from the ground.

IPAF’s Women in Powered Access initiative aims to recognise and celebrate the contributions of women in powered access, as well as outlining career pathways for women both already in the industry and those looking to enter it. 

A new standard to help equipment rental companies meet safety requirements and comply with legislation and to assist them in consistently delivering excellent customer service is set for launch at IPAF’s Asia Conference in Bangkok, Thailand, 3-4 August.

A new EU Machinery Regulation has been introduced, which will replace the current EU Machinery Directive, has been published at the end of June, and it will enter into force during July, and IPAF has informed its members to be aware of the changes.

In 2023 the International Powered Access Federation, IPAF is celebrating 40 years since its formation back in 1983 from the merger of two associations; International Federation of Hydraulic Platform Manufacturers (IFHPM) and International Work Platform Association (IWPA).
