MEWPs for Managers

Do you plan, manage or supervise work at height on MEWPs? IPAF's one-day MEWPs for Managers course can be completed via eLearning, or at an IPAF Training Centre.

  • Your legal obligations when it comes to the safe use of MEWPs
  • How to select the correct MEWP
  • What is adequate supervision?
  • How to identify misuse
  • Correct Personal Fall Protection Equipment (PFPE)
  • Managing MEWP operations on your site
  • The importance of trained and familiarised MEWP operators
  • Potential hazards and risk reduction measures
  • How to develop Recovery and Rescue Plans
  • Risk assessments

This course provides the knowledge you’ll need to safely manage MEWPs on your site! 

Who should attend this course? 

The MEWPs for Managers course is suitable for Users (anyone who controls the safe use of MEWPs on site). This includes safety personnel, project managers and supervisors. 

Qualification 

This course is about planning, supervising and managing the use of MEWPs, and not about operating equipment. Upon successful completion of the theory test, candidates will receive an IPAF certificate. Those who hold a valid Powered Access Licence for operating equipment can have the MEWPs for Managers (MM) category added to their PAL Card. 

eLearning

The eLearning version of the IPAF MEWPs for Managers course enables candidates to undertake the tuition in convenient sections and pass the online course at a time and place of their choosing, on compatible PCs and tablet devices. It utilises sophisticated facial recognition across the online training and evaluation session to ensure the candidate’s identity and to prevent any attempt to obtain the qualification through fraudulent means.
