  • The first speakers have been confirmed for IPAF Summit, to be held in London, UK, on 23 April, as the event and the International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs) gala dinner are set to sell out quickly. The IAPAs shortlist has also now been confirmed.

  • The shortlisted entrants to the 2020 International Awards for Powered Access) have been confirmed. A record 130 entries to the awards were received, with the judges meeting earlier this month in London to select their favourite entries in each category.

  • Norty Turner has been named as the President of IPAF, after Brad Boehler decided to step down having recently left his role at member firm Skyjack. Karin Nars of Dinolift becomes Deputy President and Karel Huijser of JLG is named as Vice President.

  • Andy Studdert, interim CEO and MD of IPAF, has used his closing remarks at the Europlatform 2019 conference in Nice, France, to pay tribute to departed IPAF President Brad Boehler, who stepped down after leaving his role at Skyjack recently.

  • All valid PAL Cards issued by IPAF to operators of MEWP or MCWPs worldwide are now Smart cards. PAL Cards must be renewed every five years; every PAL Card issued since 1 January 2015 has featured Smart technology to assist in preventing fraud and unauthorised machine use.

  • All Conexpo delegates who visit IPAF’s stand can learn how to select a MEWP, why they must have a safe-use plan, and why to train both operators and supervisors to improve workplace safety by complying with new ANSI standards. IPAF will also offer free supervisor training in the two days prior to the March 10-14 event.

  • Members of the powered access industry are invited to join a free online seminar to explore issues around the challenges and opportunities of environmental sustainability, including information about how stakeholders can lead positive changes in their sector.

  • Member firms are being encouraged to embrace the options for in-work training to support and certify MEWP technicians via the Roadmap that was developed by IPAF, as the first wave of candidates complete their level 2 and level 3 NVQs.

  • IPAF has made its worldwide accident reporting portal available in multiple languages and added a new dashboard to give members access to the latest available data to assist in setting their company’s safety strategy.

  • The launch of a new mobile app for operators of MEWPs and MCWPs aims to bring training certification into the digital era and reduce the environmental impact involved in issuing the IPAF PAL Card and certificate to newly qualified operators worldwide.

  • 7905: Do I have to have a digital licence?

    No, IPAF still offers a physical printed PAL Card and certificate. Please speak to your IPAF training centre when booking your training.

    You can link your IPAF issued licence and get a digital version if you choose to download ePAL in the future.

  • 7906: Why does IPAF need my contact details?

    To create an IPAF ID account you need to use and validate your email address or mobile number. These details are required on your training assessment booklet, so your licence is linked to your IPAF ID. You will get notified when your licence is ready.

  • 7907: My IPAF ID account is not working

    Check you have activated your account, an email or SMS will have been sent. If not, please raise a support ticket at www.ipaf.org/support or email support@ipaf-pal.org

  • 7908: I made a mistake with my email or mobile number when creating my IPAF ID account
