IPAF launches PAINT

Coinciding with National Cancer Survivors’ Day on 1 June, IPAF has launched an industry-wide fundraising initiative with Weston Park Cancer Charity to raise funds for vital cancer research. 

  • An initiative that aims to recognise and celebrate the contributions of women in powered access, as well as outlining career pathways for women both already in the industry and seeking to enter it, has been launched by IPAF at Vertikal Days 2022.

  • A safety trail demonstrating positive behaviours to help prevent falls from the platform will be hosted in support of IPAF’s Don’t Fall For It! industry safety campaign at Vertikal Days 2022, where IPAF will also launch its new Women in Powered Access initiative.

  • IPAF has been made aware of a safety alert from the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regarding failure to detect mechanical failure in drive units which affects Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs).

  • Representatives of IPAF will be at ELECTEX in Cork, Ireland, on 26 April, the first time the federation has had a standalone presence at a trade show in the Republic.

  • The IPAF North America Regional Council supports OSHA Safety Stand-Down May 2-6. A safety stand-down is a voluntary event for employers to talk directly to employees about safety. Any workplace can hold a stand-down by taking a break to focus on “Fall Hazards” and reinforcing the importance of “Fall Prevention”.

  • Riwal has become the latest Sustaining Member of IPAF, making it the first rental and training company on a list that includes Alimak, AON, APEX and Haulotte.

  • IPAF experienced a strong 2021, with a cautious approach to spending combining with a record year for training and membership to contribute to a year-end surplus, marking a robust rebound from the worst of the pandemic, according to its latest Annual Report.

  • Around 450 industry professionals gathered at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, Kensington, London, UK, on 10 March to toast the winners of the International Awards for Powered Access (IAPAs), Jointly organised by Access International and IPAF. IPAF Summit & IAPAs to be held in Germany in 2023, event hears.

  • A new IPAF presidential team has been confirmed, with Karin Nars of Dinolift officially invested as the federation’s first woman President at its 2022 AGM, held for the first time in three years as a physical meeting following the restrictions of the pandemic.

  • Speakers for the IPAF Summit in, London, UK, on 10 March 2022, have now been confirmed, and will be presenting on the theme of “The Evolution of Safety”.

  • Information gathered in a worldwide project to report accidents and near-misses has informed a major update to IPAF’s comprehensive training course on how to load and unload MEWPs and other plant equipment safely from trucks or trailers.
