IPAF appoints new training auditor for Germany and the Nordic Countries

Oliwer Sven Dahms

The International Powered Access Federation has appointed a new auditor to monitor training quality in Germany and the Nordic countries.

Oliwer Sven Dahms has joined IPAF in November bringing a wealth of experience in the powered access industry.

Based in Hannover, Oliwer has been involved in the mobile elevating work platform (MEWP) industry since 1991.

From 1999 to 2019, he was a co-founder and organiser of the annual Platformers’ Days trade fair and since 2003 he has been involved in the rental and sale of mini cranes and MEWPS.

As well as being a qualified IPAF instructor, Oliwer holds a diploma in business administration [Diplom-Betriebswirt] and is fluent in German, English and Swedish.

IPAF’s audit team assesses its training centres to ensure that high standards are met on a consistent basis throughout the world.

IPAF carries out initial inspections of facilities followed by annual surveillance audits, unannounced visits and telephone audits.

Training facility standards, training records and quality of teaching are all monitored through the audit process.

All team members have experience in the powered access industry and are accredited ISO 9001 lead auditors or equivalent.

IPAF Audit Manager Katrin Blau said: “Oliwer has extensive knowledge and experience of the powered access industry, possesses great communication skills and is aligned with the audit department’s philosophy to support our members to ensure that IPAF rules and standards are met, and that we audit to find compliance.

“I am looking forward to working with Oliwer and am delighted that he is joining the audit team.”

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, IPAF promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide.
