Guest speaker Rob Cavaleri will talk about how to prevent mechanical and technical breakdown; minimising the risk of MEWP failure is key to maximising safety, reliability, and prolonging the lifespan of machines. Martin Wraith will introduce the new IPAF Rental Standard and it's relationship with the IPAF Rental+ certification scheme, outlining good practice, safety requirements, compliance with legislation and consistency of excellent customer service. Paul Roddis will follow with a detailed look at IPAF’s recently released harness courses and how they better meet the needs of the industry. The webinar with conclude with a Q&A.

Mike has worked in the powered access industry for over 25 years and as such, has a strong safety and technical background in the MEWP sector bringing a thorough understanding of the specific standards relating to safe use and design of MEWPs. His experience includes roles as a Service Engineer and as an IPAF Senior Instructor, based in the UK.  Since moving to Australia in 2011, Mike has worked as the Resources Manager for the EWPA (Elevating Work Platform Association, Australia) and, in April 2022, joined IPAF in his current position.

Martin started his career as a delivery driver in the 1980s. He’s since worked within the powered access industry as an independent instructor for over 10 years, progressing to become an IPAF Examiner and, over the last seven years, an IPAF auditor. During his time as an IPAF Instructor and Auditor, Martin sat on the IPAF Rental+ Committee contributing to the development of the Scheme. In 2021 he was appointed as IPAF’s Rental+ Scheme Manager and is now responsible for the future development of the Scheme, both in the UK and other regions around the world.

Rob has over 38 years of experience in the access industry, including in Australia, the US, Europe, India and the Middle East. He joined the access industry in 1985 beginning with aluminium towers and light swinging stages, followed by telescopic handlers, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and power generators. Rob’s efforts are predominantly around continuous improvement in rental, sales, operations, technical, and training for the Manlift Riwal Group. 
Paul Roddis Paul Roddis

Paul has been in the industry for over 20 years and in training for over 10 of those. He is responsible for the creation and delivery of all IPAF training courses worldwide. Prior to joining IPAF Paul was a Senior IPAF Instructor, Lead PASMA Instructor, Lead Ladder Association Instructor, Confined Space Instructor and Assessor, and a CITB Site Management Instructor. He is committed to keeping people safe by creating world class training for Powered Access.
