New IPAF Council in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Council Formation, 2017

A council of representatives and experts from across the powered access industry has applied to the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Board for recognition as the official IPAF administrative region council for Hong Kong.

Nine experts from across the industry will sit on the newly formed IPAF administrative region council for Hong Kong, which will be chaired by Tony Small, Director of Gammon Construction Ltd. The other members of the new council are:

Raymond Wat, Regional General Manager of IPAF in South-east Asia

Nice Wu, Project Manager, Shing Fung Engineering & Equipment Ltd

Rain Ku, Managing Director, Honor Us Equipment (HK) Ltd

Ken Tsang, Manager, Modern (International) Access & Scaffolding Ltd

Cheung Chi Sing, Director, Chicardo Investment Ltd

Glenn Ho, Senior Regional Manager, Terex AWP (HK)

Lewis Wu, Director of Marketing, Strategy and Product Management, Asia JLG Industries (Shanghai)

Tomie Chan, General Manager North Asia, Haulotte Group

Raymond Wat, IPAF’s Regional General Manager for South East Asia, says: “We’re pleased to have been able to put this group together, and we have high hopes that such a broad range of stakeholders from across the powered access industry in Hong Kong coming together on a regular basis to discuss the main opportunities and challenges of the day will lead to a much safer and more productive industry.

“The primary aim of IPAF’s country and regional councils around the world is to bring together rental companies, associations and manufacturers to help drive our industry forward and towards greater safety, technical and training provision across the board, so we’re excited by the potential the new council in Hong Kong offers in terms of sharing ideas and promoting safety campaigns and best practice.”

The convening of IPAF’s first Hong Kong Council comes at an auspicious time, as the organisation’s Powered Access Rental Market Report for 2017 shows stellar growth for the powered access market and the wider Asian rental fleet last year, driven by Hong Kong, China and Japan. The Global Powered Access Rental Market Report 2017, compiled exclusively for IPAF by Ducker Worldwide, can now be purchased at www.ipaf.org/reports; last year’s report can be purchased half price, and previous years’ reports are available to download for free.

The date and location of the next IPAF Asia Conference has also just been announced: The IPAF Asia Conference & Showcase 2018 will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on the 18-19 July 2018.
