At the upcoming Giornate Italiane del Sollevamento (GIS) 2025, which will be held in Piacenza, Italy from 25–27 September 2025, the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will have a dedicated booth and a programme of initiatives designed to promote a stronger safety culture in the use of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).

The main highlight will be the official launch of IPAF’s third 2025 marketing campaign, specially designed for the Italian market and dedicated to one of the core pillars of IPAF’s mission: the IPAF Accident Reporting Database. The campaign will be presented during a special session featuring IPAF’s CEO and Managing Director Peter Douglas, IPAF’s Head of Regional Development Romina Vanzi, and IPAF’s Italy Country Manager Maurizio Quaranta.

The new campaign places a spotlight on the urgent need to report detailed and timely information about incidents and near-misses involving MEWPs. Through video content, testimonials and awareness tools, IPAF aims to strengthen its appeal to all industry stakeholders – including manufacturers, rental companies, training centres, and operators – to play an active role in improving safety by reporting events.

“Our Global Accident Reporting Database is not just a collection of data; it’s the foundation for everything we do – from guidance documents and training programs to safety campaigns and regulatory advice,” says IPAF’s CEO and Managing Director Peter Douglas. “The more data we collect, the better we can serve the industry. That’s why we are urging all professionals to do their part.”

At GIS, visitors will also have the opportunity to learn more about IPAF’s two previous 2025 campaigns: the first promoting IPAF-certified training, and the second highlighting the importance of the Loading & Unloading course. Together, these three initiatives form a cohesive strategy to raise awareness across the Italian market about the importance of proper training, proactive prevention, and shared responsibility.

IPAF looks forward to welcoming industry professionals to GIS 2025 – not only to share its latest initiatives, but above all to listen and engage with those who operate daily in the field of powered access. Because safety must always be a shared commitment.
