Fatalities caused by falls from elevation continue to be a leading cause of death for construction employees, accounting for 351 of the 1,008 construction fatalities recorded in 2020 (BLS data). Those deaths were preventable. IPAF focuses on the safe use of powered Access equipment that places workers at height and exposure to falls. Since IPAF began analyzing accident data in 2012, falls from the platform have been the most common cause of injury and death when using mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). This presentation will identify key causes of falls from the platform and provides advice about how to avoid associated hazards.

    Sponsored by MCS and Skyjack.
