The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has been honoured with the Special Jury Award at the prestigious 19th Premios Potencia 2025, held on 20 November 2025 at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid, Spain.

The gala brought together more than 350 professionals from across the construction, public works and mining sectors to celebrate excellence, innovation and commitment to safer, more efficient workplaces.

This special recognition reflects IPAF’s long-standing contribution to improving worker safety in the use of powered access equipment. Through its worldwide network of 698 approved training centres, IPAF has trained more than 920,000 operators. Today, IPAF operates in more than 80 countries and represents a network of over 1,800 members, including manufacturers, rental companies, training centres, associations and instructors. Its internationally recognised PAL Card continues to be a benchmark for high-quality training in the safe operation of MEWPs.

The jury also highlighted IPAF’s annual Global Safety Report, produced since 2012, which analyses the main causes of serious injuries and fatalities involving MEWPs, Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWP) and construction hoists. The data-driven insights from the report have become a vital tool in shaping targeted safety campaigns, guiding the development of safer equipment and reinforcing best practice worldwide.

“This award is a recognition not only of IPAF’s work, but of the collective efforts of our members, partners and instructors who share the same mission: to reduce accidents and save lives when working at height,” said Ainara Greno, IPAF’s Regional Manager for Spain. “We are proud to be part of an industry that places such high value on safety, innovation and responsibility.”

Organised by Potencia magazine, published by Interempresas Media, the Premios Potencia have become the benchmark event for the construction, public works and mining sectors in Spain and Portugal. Now in their 19th edition, the awards recognise the quality, innovation, sustainability and commitment of key industry players.

The independent jury, chaired by SEOPAN and the National Confederation of Construction, is made up of fleet managers from the country’s leading construction companies along with representatives from major industry associations, ensuring a rigorous and respected selection process.

The 2025 winners across categories included leading names such as Sandfire MATSA, Dragados SA, FCC Construcción, The Manitowoc Company, Haulotte Ibérica, Epiroc, Sandvik and SANY Iberia, among others.

IPAF is proud to stand alongside these organisations in advancing safer, more sustainable and more efficient practices for the future of the built environment.
