IPAF North America Supports OSHA’s 2025 National Safety Stand-Down

construction safety week 2025

In 2023, falls, slips, and trips accounted for 421 of 1,075 construction-related deaths – nearly 39% of all fatalities. Most fatal falls (260) occurred from heights between 6 and 30 feet, with ladders and stairs involved in 109 incidents. These figures emphasize the ongoing need for comprehensive safety training to protect workers in the construction industry.

To combat this, OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction – part of Construction Safety Week – returns from May 5–9, 2025, calling on employers and workers across the U.S. to pause and focus on fall prevention.

IPAF North America is proud to support this critical initiative. Throughout the week, we’ll be actively promoting safe working at height through education, engagement, and practical resources.

Free Safety Webinars: IPAF will host two one-hour sessions where contractors can ‘stand down’ with their teams to hear expert advice and proven strategies for preventing falls and improving MEWP safety.

New eLearning MEWP Operator Training Options: Discover IPAF’s new MEWP operator training solutions in North America, offering flexible and scalable alternatives to full IPAF Training Center certification. These additions aim to meet growing market demand while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Learn more here: www.aeriallifttrainingbyipaf.com

Jobsite Engagement: Randy Marzicola, IPAF’s VP North America, alongside U.S. Training Center members, will visit a jobsite for an in-person Safety Stand-Down to connect with workers, answer questions, and share MEWP safety best practices.

Toolbox Talks: Download IPAF’s ready-to-use safety Toolbox Talks on key topics including fall prevention, rescue planning, and spotter responsibilities to support your team’s Stand-Down activities.

By participating in the 2025 Stand-Down Week, IPAF North America continues to champion safety and supports OSHA’s mission to eliminate falls in construction. Together, we can help prevent accidents and save lives.
