Industry gathers in Hamburg for IPAF Elevation Deutschland & Österreich 2026
Powered access professionals from across Germany and Austria came together in Hamburg for IPAF Elevation Deutschland & Österreich 2026, a two-day event bringing the regional access community together to network, exchange knowledge and explore the latest developments in the industry.
Organised by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), the event took place on 4–5 March at the Hotel Hafen Hamburg, offering attendees a striking panoramic view over the Port of Hamburg.
The event attracted 95 participants on the first day and 161 attendees on the conference day, highlighting strong engagement from IPAF members and certified IPAF trainers across the German and Austrian powered access sector.
Behind-the-scenes at one of Europe’s busiest ports
Activities began on 4 March with an exclusive tour of the container terminal at the Port of Hamburg. Participants were given a close-up look at the scale and complexity of port logistics and deep-sea freight operations before returning to the hotel for an evening networking dinner.
The first day provided an informal opportunity for attendees to reconnect with industry colleagues and build new relationships within the regional powered access community.
Presentations and industry discussion
The conference programme continued on 5 March with a full day of presentations covering key industry topics.
Sessions included updates on the new IPAF operator training course, insights into rescue planning and rescue at height, and a roundtable discussion exploring the role of artificial intelligence in powered access operations. The discussions highlighted both the opportunities and challenges that new technologies may bring to the industry.
