Appointment of Global MCWP & Hoist Representative

John Joe Magee

We are pleased to confirm that John Joe Magee will be joining IPAF on 23 February as Global MCWP and Hoist Representative.

John Joe is an experienced IPAF MCWP and Hoist Instructor with a wealth of industry knowledge. He has also played a key role in industry development through his involvement in IPAF’s UK and Ireland MCWP and hoist working groups, giving him strong insight into member needs and sector priorities.

John Joe succeeds Angel Ibáñez, who has left IPAF after more than eight years of dedicated service to take up a new role closer to his hometown of Zaragoza. During his time with IPAF, Angel led all MCWP and hoist activities, including the development of a comprehensive suite of training programmes.

Upon leaving, Angel said:

“I would like to express my gratitude to all IPAF members, collaborators, and colleagues. This has been, without a doubt, the most rewarding stage of my professional life, and I am proud to have contributed to making the lift industry a safer one.”

The appointment of John Joe ensures continuity, stability, and ongoing support for members, with no disruption to training development or standards-related work.

John Joe commented:

“It is truly a privilege to be joining IPAF as Global MCWP & Hoist Representative. Building on the significant progress made under Angel’s leadership, my focus will be on continuing to provide members with high-quality service, promoting active engagement, and supporting growth across all regions. Having spent almost my entire career working with MCWPs and hoists, I am excited to bring my experience and passion for the industry into this role.”

We would like to thank Angel once again for his outstanding contribution and wish him every success in his next role. We also look forward to welcoming John Joe to IPAF and working with him to support the MCWP and hoist community worldwide.
