IPAF appoints two new country representatives

Christine and Javier

New country representatives for Spain and Switzerland have been appointed by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). Javier Cerezo will be the federation’s new rep in Spain, while Christine Lell steps up from acting in an interim capacity to take on the role full time for Switzerland, in addition to her existing responsibilities for French-speaking territories and countries in eastern Europe.

Javier is an IPAF Senior Instructor who has been collaborating with Loxam-Hune in Spain for several years. He is based in Zierbena near Bilbao in the Basque Country, while Christine Lell will continue to work from IPAF’s office in Basel, Switzerland. Both will report to Romina Vanzi, IPAF’s Head of Regional Development.

Javier says: “I am very proud to join IPAF; my main priorities will be to support all of our members and associates, to enhance collaboration with them and with all regional and national public institutions in the realm of the workplace and work at height safety.

“Likewise, we want to develop existing and new collaborations with national and international companies in the Iberian Peninsula, who are keen to work together with IPAF on common goals of work at height planning, best practice and safety.”

Christine Lell comments: “I am delighted to be able to challenge myself further with another evolution of my role with IPAF. I have been based in the IPAF office in Basel since joining the organisation in 2011, so I am no stranger to our Swiss members. I will continue to do my utmost to help them take pride in being part of the IPAF adventure!”

Romina Vanzi says: “Spain and Switzerland are very important territories for IPAF, so it is important for us to have appointed the right people to carry on the good work that has gone before and continue to build on the momentum, especially given the challenges and disruption wrought by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“In Christine and Javier we have two enthusiastic individuals already known to many of the members in Switzerland and Spain respectively; we are pleased to welcome them to their new roles and wish them every success.”

Peter Douglas, IPAF’s CEO, adds: “Everyone at IPAF is delighted to congratulate Javier and Christine on their appointment. A key priority of the federation is to help our members and the powered access industry worldwide to survive and bounce back strongly on the other side of the pandemic; it is encouraging to know that our members and partners in Spain and Switzerland, two key countries on the IPAF map, will benefit from the wisdom, experience and friendly assistance their new country reps will offer.”
