A certification equivalency agreement has been reached between the SSVV or Foundation for Safety Cooperation and IPAF that means all valid IPAF PAL Cards will now be recognised at petrochemicals sites and installations in the Netherlands.
IPAF is sponsoring the HSSE Global this year. On 16 November, there will be a panel discussion on 'how correct training can help in achieving operational excellence and a safety culture that leads to zero incidents'. IPAF will also have a workshop on managing your MEWP Equipment, reducing your risk’s – creating a safe system of work. On 17 November, Jason Woods IPAF's Middle East representative will also deliver a presentation.

MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms) can operate in many environments. In some situations, hazards may be identified that are difficult to be seen by the operator, including moving traffic or pedestrians. In these cases, a spotter may be used but they must be competent and authorised.

The Professional Development Seminar (PDS) is aimed at IPAF-certified instructors to enable them to stay updated with MCWP and hoist legislation and training, but is also open to all IPAF members.

A VR sim on which to demonstrate operator training, and several safety stations using a selection of MEWPs to illustrate the key risks involved in the most common causes of MEWP accidents will be among the main draws on the IPAF stand at SMOPYC 2021.
MEWP overturn incidents often result in serious injuries or fatalities. Instability leading to overturn is commonly among the top four causes of lost time incidents (LTIs) annually, according to global data.
