Don Kenny, CEO of Loxam Powered Access Division (formerly Lavendon Group), has been confirmed as the keynote speaker for the annual Europlatform conference, which will be hosted by IPAF at the Europa Hotel in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on 11 October.
The line-up for the inaugural IPAF ELEVATION conference and gala dinner event on 25 September this year is quickly taking shape, with the speakers confirmed and the venue announced as the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Coventry. Booking is now open.
Key British Standards Institute publications are being made available to members of IPAF free of charge following an agreement brokered between the two organisations allowing read-only access to the latest versions of sector-specific standards online.

Earlier this year, IPAF worked in collaboration with the Quality Conformity Council of Abu Dhabi to carry out proficiency testing for third-party MEWP inspection companies. IPAF will now support the QCC and the wider field of MEWP inspection in the region.
IPAF has held the first of a series of workshops aimed at helping rental members in the UK make the transition to minimum audit standards in line with IPAF Rental+ requirements, which has been mandatory since 1 September last year. The workshop was held at Spanset’s offices in Cheshire with 15 rental companies represented.
IPAF has created a film warning people not to cut corners when using MEWPs to carry out temporary work at height, launching it at its Asia Conference & Showcase in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – the busiest edition of the event to date with around 350 attendees.
This symbol is designed to help operators locate the auxiliary lowering controls in the event of an emergency following a machine malfunction.

IPAF supports OSHA’s annual safety stand-down as part of its mission to promote the safe and effective use of powered access equipment – IPAF has developed poster artwork and toolbox talk guidance that are available for free download from the www.IPAF.org website as part of IPAF’s Andy Access campaign promoting the safe use of MEWPs and MCWPs.
The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has launched a major new website, featuring a complete design overhaul, more interactive menus and an intuitive interface that automatically picks up a user’s region and language settings.
Intermat,is a chance to showcase IPAF’s new safety campaign for 2018-19. This outlines why operators and managers conducting work at height using MEWPs should plan ahead for safety; carry out proper risk assessments, choose the correct equipment for the job, conduct site and machinery inspections, use trained and familiarised operators under proper supervision and implement adequate segregation from other plant machinery and traffic.
IPAF is a partner association at the sixth International Rental Conference (IRC) in Shanghai, China. The conference is taking place the day before Bauma, China and Tim Whiteman, IPAF's CEO & Managing Director will be speaking.
