Representatives from the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) will attend UK Construction Week 2022 at ExCeL, London, on 3-5 May; the first time the federation has exhibited at the London edition of the construction industry and supply chain show.

UK Construction Week comes to London at a critical time, as the sector meets unprecedented demand for housing and new infrastructure. It will be the biggest construction event the UK capital has seen in several years, with over 40,000m2 of exhibition space, 600 trade stands, conferences, thought leadership and awards.

Focusing on the theme of ‘culture change’, UK Construction Week London will delve into the practicalities of how the construction industry is adapting to major change, such as the forthcoming Building Safety Act, net-zero commitments, skills shortages and an urgent need to improve diversity and inclusion. IPAF will be on Stand K30.

Richard Whiting, IPAF’s UK & Ireland Market General Manager, says: “This will be the first time IPAF has exhibited during UK Construction Week in London. We are looking forward to interacting with attendees about the benefits of IPAF membership, IPAF’s globally recognised powered access training programme and the array of safety and technical guidance support we offer.

“Many people in this industry are IPAF-trained and use our materials in support of their own health & safety processes. IPAF is seeking to reach out to contractors, operators and industry end-users across all construction sectors, to ensure our safety message is spread far and wide and to build engagement with contractor and operator-focused initiatives including the IPAF ePAL app for smartphones, the new Safety Professional individual IPAF membership category, and the benefits of using an IPAF Rental+ hire company in terms of both safety and customer service.

“We feel the IPAF ePAL app in particular is a very innovative development that will be of great benefit not just to operators but to site supervisors and health & safety managers, enabling verification and sharing of IPAF training certification via digital means, as well as allowing users to log and share equipment time and experience, logging accidents to the IPAF reporting portal quickly and easily, and pushing out useful safety and technical guidance direct to operators and their managers.”

● IPAF will be on Stand K30 at UK Construction Week at ExCeL, London. The show includes Concrete Expo London (3-4 May), Offsite Show (3-5 May), and Grand Designs Live (3-5 May) and ticket-holders can gain free access to all shows as well as UKCW London across the three days.
