Hitachi Energy Becomes Accredited IPAF Training Centre in Sweden
Hitachi Energy has officially become an IPAF-accredited Training Centre in Sweden, marking a significant milestone for the company and for the wider powered access industry in the region.
The centre, located at Hitachi Energy’s facility in Ludvika, is only the second IPAF Training Centre in Sweden, and is uniquely positioned within a major industrial company that trains its workforce across multiple equipment types, including Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), forklifts, and overhead cranes.
IPAF is pleased to confirm that the first group of candidates (pictured below) has now completed their IPAF Operator training, delivered by Mr. Vitor Sousa, IPAF-certified instructor (not pictured). While we are unable to name the candidates, we are proud to recognise the achievement and share a photo of the newly certified operators.
“It is a great pleasure to welcome Hitachi Energy as an accredited IPAF Training Centre,” said Kent Boström, IPAF’s Nordic & East Europe Regional Manager. “Their commitment to upskilling and safety, especially in high-risk environments like high-voltage installation, sets an important example for the industry.”
Hitachi Energy is responding to growing demand for operator training across Europe, particularly for newly hired high-voltage installers working in energy infrastructure projects. The company estimates that around 2,000 personnel across Europe will need to be trained – providing a strong and sustained need for in-house training capacity over the coming years.

With such a large number of high-voltage installers to be trained across Europe, it’s rewarding to know we’re playing a part in helping them work more safely and efficiently at height.”
By offering IPAF training at their Ludvika site, Hitachi Energy can ensure a consistent, high-quality standard of safety training for operators working at height with MEWPs, alongside other lifting and access equipment essential for their operations.
