IPAF Elevation Switzerland 2024, held in Gränichen, brought together industry experts and professionals for a day of informative sessions, workshops and discussions. Followed by the IPAF Switzerland Awards ceremony, the event covered key developments within IPAF and the industry, training updates, and regulatory changes.

The Swiss region continues to be a key focus for IPAF, and we are fully committed to expanding our presence by hosting a range of events and professional development seminars, ensuring ongoing support and growth in this area.

Romina Vanzi, IPAF’s Head of Regional Development and MCWPs, commented: "We were delighted to see the Swiss powered access industry come together for this event, demonstrating their strong commitment to quality training and safety standards."

The event commenced with a warm welcome and opening remarks, followed by an overview of IPAF’s activities in 2023. Attendees were then provided with an in-depth 2023 Audit Report, covering critical insights and financial reviews, and a detailed ISTC Report, which addressed updates from the International Safety Training Centre.

The morning sessions continued with a discussion on IPAF Rental Standards, focusing on good practices and guidelines for rental operations, followed by an update on the latest developments in IPAF training programmes.

After lunch, participants gathered for a group photo before moving on to the introduction of the new IPAF Operator Training Course. This session outlined the key features and benefits of the updated training for operators. A presentation from SUVA followed, highlighting the latest changes in ground pressure regulations and other safety developments affecting the industry.

A panel discussion in the afternoon explored the topic of refresher courses, debating whether they are simply a preference or a genuine necessity within the industry. This conversation sparked a lively exchange of views among participants, focusing on the value of continuous learning.

The day concluded with the IPAF Switzerland Awards, where individuals and organisations were recognised for their contributions to the industry. The closing remarks included the presentation of certificates to attendees. An apéro followed, providing a relaxed atmosphere for networking before the event concluded with a BBQ dinner.
