IPAF appoints new training auditor for Ireland

Stuart Witts

The International Powered Access Federation has appointed a new auditor to monitor training quality in Ireland. Stuart Witts joins IPAF in January 2024 bringing wide ranging experience in safety across numerous sectors.

A resident of Ireland for 30 years, Stuart is committed to continuing personal and professional development and applies that approach to supporting clients and customers.

Stuart, who is fluent in English and French, spent many years carrying out vehicle operator training in the transport safety training and assessment sector, a role which allowed him to travel extensively. Other experience he is bringing to IPAF includes insights from the aviation and manufacturing sectors.

IPAF’s audit team assesses its training centres to ensure that high standards are met on a consistent basis throughout the world.

IPAF carries out initial inspections of facilities followed by annual surveillance audits, unannounced visits and telephone audits.

Training facility standards, training records and quality of teaching are all monitored through the audit process.

All team members have experience in the powered access industry and are accredited ISO 9001 lead auditors or equivalent.

IPAF Audit Manager Katrin Blau said: “Stuart brings a fresh industry perspective to IPAF’s audit team. He possesses great communication skills and is aligned with the audit department’s philosophy to support our members to ensure that IPAF rules and standards are met, and that we audit to find compliance.

“I am looking forward to working with Stuart and delighted that he is joining the audit team.”

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, IPAF promotes the safe and effective use of powered access equipment worldwide.
