AMMEC Training and Its Social Commitment: Certification and Hope for Migrants and Ex-Prisoners in Mexico

In a world where job opportunities are crucial for social and economic reintegration, the IPAF training centre AMMEC Training has taken the initiative to collaborate with various organisations to provide hope and training to two particularly vulnerable groups: migrants and individuals in the process of reintegration.

One of the key associations in this noble mission is SIN FRONTERAS, a Mexican civil society organisation that works tirelessly to protect the human rights of migrants. With the aim of supporting these individuals, AMMEC has dedicated itself to certifying migrants in the operation of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs). This certification, endorsed by IPAF.org, not only enhances their skills but also significantly increases their chances of finding decent employment upon integrating into society.

Emerson Baca, Director of AMMEC, commented on this collaboration: "Our goal is to provide migrants with the necessary tools to build a better future. Training in the operation of elevating platforms not only gives them technical skills but also the confidence and dignity needed to face everyday challenges."

Additionally, AMMEC has extended its reach to another vital organisation: CASA DE MEDIO CAMINO. This space provides shelter to individuals who, having been deprived of their liberty, benefit from semi-freedom measures and are in the final stage of their sentence. With the same spirit of support and reintegration, AMMEC provides them with the same training and certification in the operation of elevating platforms. This allows them to acquire skills that are highly valued in the labour market, facilitating their effective transition and reintegration into society.

Diego Bustamante, IPAF Manager for LATAM, highlighted the importance of this initiative: "The collaboration with AMMEC is fundamental to fulfilling our mission of improving safety and efficiency in the operation of elevating platforms. Through these certifications, we are not only raising industry standards but also providing second chances to those who need it most."

The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) works closely with manufacturers, distributors, rental companies, and end-users to develop and maintain safety standards. Through its initiatives, it seeks to reduce the risks associated with working at height, promoting safe practices, and educating operators on the importance of workplace safety.

The synergy between AMMEC and these organisations demonstrates how professional training and certification can be powerful tools for social change. The success stories of migrants and ex-prisoners who have found decent jobs and managed to reintegrate into society are living testimonies of the positive impact of these initiatives.

Through these collaborations, AMMEC is not only certifying technical skills but also forging paths towards a more promising future for those who need it most.
