IPAF Webinar: Safe Use of Construction Hoists and Transport Platforms

This webinar will look at the safe use of construction hoists and transport platforms. The webinar topics will cover compliance, responsibilities and training when using construction hoists. 

Confirmed Speakers:

Craig Hook is the Head of Lifting for Sir Robert McAlpine, a company that owns and operates its own fleet of construction hoists and tower cranes. He also serves as a committee member for MHE/6 – Construction Hoists, which is responsible for BS7212 (Safe use of hoists) in the UK. Additionally, he has contributed to the re-write of EN1495 (Design of MCWPs) and BS7981 (Safe use of MCWPs). He will also be a committee member involved in the development of the new European super standard for the design of all building hoists and transport platforms. 
Brian Parker is Head of Safety & Technical at IPAF. He has worked in the powered access industry for over 25 years, formerly working for IPAF Member AFI-Uplift. He holds a NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and is also a Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Brian has been an IPAF Instructor for over 20 years and represented on many committees during this time. He carries out work on UK and International committees i.e. BSI Committee MHE12/1, CEN/TC/98/WG1 and ISO/TC214 Committee. He proudly served in the UK Forces - Royal Engineers for 8 years with overseas operational tours. 

Angel Ibanez is IPAF's Global Representative for MCWP & Related Products. With 25 years’ experience in different areas of the machinery, automotive and construction sectors, he has a broad experience in the MCWP and hoist industry worldwide. Previous experience includes: Sales Manager for the Spanish manufacturer Torgar lifting equipment, and latterly as an independent consultant in the sector, advising commercial clients and industry bodies in Europe and Asia, like the Japanese Lift Climber Association, with a focus on developing and adapting industry standards. He has a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA.
