  • The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is delighted to announce that Rahul Seth, Managing Director of Sudhir Group of Companies, has been seconded to the IPAF board following the board meeting on June 27th. His secondment was agreed upon by the IPAF board members and will be put to vote by the members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in March 2025.

  • Henderson Insurance Brokers, an AON company, has been announced as the preferred insurance partner of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF),
    in a move that will benefit IPAF members in the UK and Ireland. The company also becomes the third to join IPAF’s new Sustaining Member category.

  • It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Barker, a pioneering figure in the powered access industry and the first President of the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF). John passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 7th, 2024, at the age of 88, after a battle with late-stage prostate cancer.

  • What is a PAL Card? 

    A PAL Card is a Powered Access Licence for operating Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs) or Construction Hoists (CHs).

  • In 2022, both the European and US MEWP rental markets boomed, though rental and utilisation rates have yet to return to levels seen in 2019 amid uncertainty around high inflation and ongoing conflict in Ukraine, according to the latest IPAF/Ducker report.

  • The IPAF Middle East Conference, hosted at the Radisson Blu Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Centre, brought together industry professionals from around the world for a day of knowledge sharing, industry insights, and networking opportunities.

  • IPAF has made a senior management appointment to head up its global Technical & Safety department. Andrew Delahunt will join from a major global Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) manufacturer, where he is currently the Worldwide Safety and Homologation Manager. Andrew will be based in IPAF’s office in Basel, Switzerland, and will take up the post from January 2018.

  • IPAF will officially launch its 2019 global safety campaign at the giant bauma construction equipment showcase near Munich, Germany, 8-14 April 2019. IPAF’s stand is confirmed as 711 in C4 hall of the exhibition site, and will also feature a sophisticated MEWP simulator, which proved very popular at IPAF’s events in 2018.

  • Build UK has written to the Government to request recognition for construction, trades and supply chain workers, including those in powered access, to secure permission to travel and maintain access to active construction sites during the coronavirus outbreak.

  • The first in a series of potentially life-saving safety briefings has been launched by IPAF. IPAF’s ‘Toolbox Talks’ are a series of safety presentations ideal for use in breakrooms and worksites to get key messages across at the start of a shift.

  • A safety trail demonstrating the importance of planning ahead for safety when conducting temporary work at height using MEWPs and a virtual reality MEWP simulator were among the main draws on IPAF’s stand at Vertikal Days 2018.
