What is your role in powered access?
I am the Executive Head of BOZP Pardubice s.r.o. in Czechia, an approved accredited training centre for training mobile lifting work platform operators.
How did you come into this industry and what attracted you to it?
I have more than 20 years of experience working as a qualified person in risk prevention and fire protection, as a pressure vessel inspection technician, and as a construction site coordinator. As a lecturer, I am involved in preparing employees for training, which leads to obtaining certificates for EU countries, namely the VCA certificate, SCC certificate and SPA certificate. Furthermore, our company is accredited for training motorised forklift operators, where I am responsible for training as an instructor.
All these professional qualifications and the requirements of customers, especially those who work abroad, have led us to improve and expand our portfolio of services. That is why I was interested in training for mobile lifting work platforms.
“Don't be afraid to work among men if you have a relationship with technology and education in the field.”
What do you find inspiring about your role?
In our country, we are obliged to comply with Act No. 193/2022 Coll., but the IPAF standard is not mentioned within this. That said, everyone who has completed our IPAF standard training has been satisfied, as reflected in the positive reviews on my website, and that is inspiring!
Where do you see yourself in five years and what do you want to achieve?
In five years, I see myself as a leading provider of IPAF-standard training in my region, helping to raise safety and competency levels in powered access. The lack of companies offering this training here motivates me to continuously improve and set higher standards in the industry. My goal is to expand training opportunities, grow my expertise, and make a lasting impact on workplace safety.
What one piece of advice would you give to other women in/thinking of entering the industry?
Don't be afraid to work among men if you have a relationship with technology and education in the field. I will personally support my daughter and my colleague in becoming the next women to join the IPAF group and develop as professional training instructors within the next two years.
