IPAF supports UK Associations Week

Associations Week - IPAF Council, Dubai 2019

UK Associations Week 2019 LogoThe International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) is pleased to support UK Associations Week (17-21 June), which offers a chance for all trade and membership organisations to promote and celebrate the work they do.

Established in 2017 by the Institute of Association Leadership (IAL), Associations Week aims to shine a spotlight on the work of professional associations and was launched to celebrate the employees and volunteers who make associations work.

IAL strives to promote excellence in the leadership and management of associations and established Associations Week as the annual celebration of the work of the UK's associations and the people who make them successful – both the individuals who work in them, as well as the thousands of volunteers who give up their time, energy and expertise.

Tim Whiteman, CEO and MD of IPAF, comments: “IPAF started out with a small but dedicated team of staff, volunteers and members in the UK, and has grown into a truly global organisation that works hard to provide support to members worldwide and the industry at large. The organisation has grown in line with our members’ vision, and with the powered access industry itself.”

IPAF was created and has evolved over time for our members’ benefit, as directed by our members. Through IPAF’s councils, committees and working groups, our members control the direction of travel and develop IPAF’s policies, training programme, technical guidance and safety campaigns.

Tim Whiteman adds: “When it comes to working with government at all levels, developing training and standards and presenting a persuasive case for the use of powered access as a safe way to conduct temporary work at height, IPAF would not be where it is today without the tireless support and assistance of our members. Associations Week is a chance for us to recognise all the work our members do to sustain IPAF as a federation.

“IPAF also often partners or works closely with similar associations wherever there
is a clear overlap or common interest; Associations Week is a great opportunity to showcase some of the less visible work we do, to recognise the excellent work of our hard-working staff, councils, committees and members, and to share best practice more widely than we might normally.

“I very much look forward to this week providing a great platform for like-minded associations from other industries to share ideas and celebrate their successes.”
