Mercure Hotel, Haydock

The second International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) Regional Meeting of the year is booking up fast, as attendees confirm their places for an evening of exceptional speakers and industry networking at the Mercure Hotel in Haydock, Merseyside.

Following on from IPAF’s popular regional meeting for the North East and Yorkshire, which saw around 50 attendees enjoy presentations on topics as diverse as diabetes awareness, drink and drugs policies in the workplace, and a comprehensive history of the changing dynamics of Platform Rental in the UK, the next regional meeting is being held on Wednesday 9 May from 6pm aimed at attendees from across the North West.

The line-up of presentations features John Chandler, Strategic Accounts & Business Development Manager for Genie, talking about the design & safe use of MEWPS, Steve Wildman and Adele Doran from the Commercial Training Team of Merseyside Fire & Rescue talking about work at height and the importance of having a rescue plan in place, and Sam Wilkinson, Senior Training Instructor at SpanSet Ltd, who will talk about ways to evacuate a MEWP in an emergency.

Richard Whiting, IPAF’s UK Market General Manager, will jointly host the event with Kirk Bancroft, Account Manager at SpanSet Ltd, and will also give an overview and update on the work of IPAF, including how members can get more involved. The presentations will be followed by a general Q&A session, buffet and networking.

There is a subsidised charge of £10 (inc VAT) per head for IPAF members, £15 (inc VAT) per head for non-members. To find more details and to book please visit www.ipaf.org/events; there are two more regional events in the UK in IPAF’s calendar; the UK/Ireland Members’ Event on 25 September and the final regional meeting of 2018 on 28 November in the South East, venues to be confirmed.
