Line-up of speakers confirmed for IPAFs ELEVATION event

Elevation 2018 Hotel - Double Tree by Hilton, Coventry

The line-up for the inaugural International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) ELEVATION conference, networking and gala dinner event later this year is rapidly taking shape, with speakers confirmed and the venue now announced as the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Coventry.

The speakers for the event on 25 September will be: Jo Fautley, Deputy CEO, Build UK; Mark Noonan, Industry Relations Director, CITB; Ray Cooke, Construction Sector Safety Unit, HSE; Malcolm Bowers, Director, Lifterz; Paul Lindup, Network Rail’s head of Infrastructure, Construction and Engineering Air Operations; as well as Richard Whiting, IPAF’s UK Market General Manager, and Giles Councell, IPAF’s Director of Operations.

In the evening there will be a gala dinner and the whole event will be a chance for powered access professionals to meet and network, as well as to try their hand on a state-of-the-art MEWP simulator machine as part of IPAF’s ongoing virtual reality (VR) consultation. The person who completes a specific MEWP challenge with the fewest faults will win IPAF’s “Smooth Operator 2018” award.

There will also be a competition to choose the best marketing video for IPAF training, with attendees at the event able to vote for their favourite from a showreel of shortlisted finalists. Send your submissions to Faith Cobaine at faith.cobaine@ipaf.org by 15 September.

Richard Whiting comments: “I think IPAF has managed to put together a very interesting and engaging panel of speakers and range of activities that should appeal to anyone working in the powered access industry in the UK today. I am really looking forward to the event and expect it will be a great opportunity for people to get together, to share their ideas and to network, all capped off with a gala dinner in the evening.”

Tim Whiteman, CEO & MD of IPAF, adds: “This event was conceived in response to popular demand from IPAF’s members. The seminar, Member Open Meeting and our gala dinner with first-class entertainment will combine to create an event that is not to be missed. I’m very much looking forward to being there and trying my hand at the Smooth Operator 2018 challenge.”
