The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Scaffolding Association Australia (SAA) to enhance safety and training standards within the mast climbing work platform (MCWP) industry across Australia.
It is with deep sadness that the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) acknowledges the passing of Hans Aarse – a passionate advocate for safety in powered access, a long-standing supporter of IPAF, and a dear friend to many in our industry.
IPAF’s Global Safety Report 2025 reveals a notable decrease in fatalities involving powered access equipment, despite only a slight reduction in overall reported incidents. The findings are based on comprehensive analysis of incidents submitted through its global Accident Reporting Portal.
MEWP overturn incidents often result in serious injuries or fatalities. Instability leading to overturn is commonly among the top four causes of lost time incidents (LTIs) annually, according to global data.
