Embora o acesso motorizado continue a ser um dos métodos mais seguros para realizar trabalhos temporários em altura, incidentes envolvendo falhas mecânicas ou técnicas podem ainda resultar em ferimentos graves e fatalidades. A IPAF destaca que muitos destes incidentes podem ser evitados através de rotinas de inspeção consistentes, manutenção adequada e cumprimento dos procedimentos de segurança.
