IPAF reports

IPAF has published the IPAF European Powered Access Rental Report 2008 and the IPAF US Powered Access Rental Report 2008.

The IPAF reports contain specialised research focusing on the powered access industry. The research is based on extra questions included in survey projects with the European Rental Association (ERA) and the American Rental Association (ARA) that are not covered in the ERA and ARA reports.

“These reports contain groundbreaking research and attempt to analyse the rental sector in a way that allows companies to make predictions and plan business strategies,” said Tim Whiteman, IPAF managing director.

ERA report

IPAF members can purchase the ERA European Equipment Rental Industry 2008 Report at a reduced price of €300 (normal price €900).

The report is the first ever comprehensive study of the construction equipment rental market in Europe. It is the work of the ERA Statistics Committee, which is chaired by IPAF managing director Tim Whiteman, in collaboration with Global Insight.

For each country, the report includes detailed information on European and national markets:
• Total rental revenue
• Number of rental locations
• Number of employees
• Number of companies
• Penetration: Sales of equipment (to rental industry vs. total sales)
• Penetration: Equipment population (value of equipment in rental market vs. total equipment market value)
• Penetration: Rental vs. construction

For product types, data is presented in aggregated form for each national and European market.

The report is based on data gathered from national statistical offices, industry reports and results of a European survey. Data was gathered from 12 European countries covering 13 product types.

Countries include: Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

Product types include: Earthmoving equipment, concrete related equipment, compaction equipment, energy (e.g. generators, compressors), pumps, material handling equipment, aerial work platforms, cranes, scaffolding, shoring, traffic safety, accommodation and hand tools.
